KUUMAT
KUUMAT is a test administered by Kathmandu University to enroll students into undergraduate programs. It stands for Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test.
The KUUMAT undergraduate program includes:
- Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA)
- BBA (Hons)/(Emphasis)
- Bachelor of Business Information System (BBIS)
- Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM)
The Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) administers this test in order to recruit quality students to its associated colleges. It is a requirement for applying for admission. The application deadline for the KUUMAT admission exam is usually in June, and the exam is usually held in July.
KUUMAT is the first phase of the admissions test for candidates interested in management degrees at Kathmandu University (BBA, BBIS and BHM). Students would be able to apply for admission to KUSOM and its affiliated colleges after passing the KUUMAT.
The KUUMAT test consists of multiple-choice questions of 100 marks. There is negative scoring. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The CMAT structure comprises of 4 sections:

Exam Format
KUUMAT will be based on the following assessment domains:
- Verbal Assessment
The Verbal test measures his ability to grasp, analyze, and evaluate what is read as well as recognize basic rules of wrong or ineffective expressions.
- Quantitative Assessment
The ability to consider events, behaviors, and experimentation based on data is tested in the SATs. The Quantitative Assessment portion of the test examines the relationship between numbers and factors that influence data comprehension and experimentation.
Course Duration
The course takes about 6 weeks with regular and monthly tests. The entrance preparation class has 3 shifts including morning/day/night. Daily classes take about 2.5 hour.
Eligibility
Students applying for bachelor programs in KUUMAT classes will be eligible fulfilling the following requirements:
- Has completed 10+2 or equivalent from recognized university
- Minimum 50% of aggregate score
- CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 in intermediate

Exam Pattern
KUUMAT is the first part of the Kathmandu University (KU) of Nepal’s entrance test, which is used to select eligible applicants for admission to undergraduate management programs (BBA, BBIS, and BHTM). It is a paper based test. The KUUMAT exam includes:
- A collection of KUUMAT sample questions is included with the KUUMAT application blank.
- The KUUMAT eligibility test will be a written test using pen and paper.
- The KUUMAT will be a single test that will include both assessment domains (General SAT & SAT Mathematics Test).
- The test shall consist of multiple-choice items.

- Make a time table and study schedule.
- Only use the most recent editions of KUUMAT prep books for study.
- Concentrate on your weak areas and work to improve by completing additional practice papers.
- Join online study groups and get tools to help you prepare for the MBA entrance exam.
- Begin with the most difficult segment and narrow it down to the easier sections. Do not begin a new topic until the previous one has been completed.
- Make a habit of practising mock test after completing the syllabus.
